About Me

About Me

As a screenwriter...

I have written multiple genres & styles - from RomCom (my personal favorite!), to relationship drama, to thriller, to comedy.

I've written a variety of lengths - from a feel-good RomCom feature, to short films, to scenes ranging from one-six pages, monologues for both the stage & screen, a play, and multiple short stories.

I've worked with I Look Like Myself Productions, a production company specializing in producing tailored scenes for reels, in addition to working directly with actors on custom material. I've written for & worked with many acting teachers/classes, and written/tweaked scenes for industry showcases. I have been part of The Scriptwriters Network. I also have experience writing for online publications & participating in press junkets, for Teenfaze.com & ChristianCinema.com.

I also work in the entertainment industry administratively, and have experience reading scripts and giving script coverage & notes.

As a scenewriter...

I write custom material - scenes & monologues, unique to each actor.

I tailor material to your niche, to the emotions/characteristics you are trying to portray, & to whatever you need the scene for (reel material, showcase, etc.).

I gather as much information as I can about you, the artist - by combining your self-descriptions and marketing material (headshots, resume, existing reel), with my own knowledge of the industry's trends and my observations. The more I know about you, the better I can write for you.

In the end, you gain handcrafted material that showcases you in the best light.

As a person...

I equally love British crime shows (from Broadchurch and Midsomer Murders to Doctor Foster and The Coroner, just to name a few) and Hallmark RomComs (literally too many to name, but any with Andrew Walker is a good place to start). I am a die-hard Dodgers fan, even heading out for Spring Training roadtrips every year.

Hailing from a household of a strong single Mom (whose favorite film during my childhood was Sleepless In Seattle), I love stories that are complex, that keep me guessing, that make me smile while I'm crying, and that have happy endings.

I'm an actress, too, and have written content for my own voice & reel for as long as I can remember. You can find those pieces on my acting website - sarahgraceson.com.

Oh, and I have a cat, Seamus, who knows how to sit & shake.
